John Denver, a singer-songwriter who hails from Colorado who was a specialist in folk-pop music has touched the hearts of millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He fell in love Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's anthems of fame about Colorado have been a major influence on many to move to the state. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame says the fact that John Denver is unlike any other musician who represents Colorado. In the year 2011, Denver was chosen as the Hall of Fame's very first inductee. Denver has been the symbol of Colorado to the many people across the globe. Through my many travels, I have met many people who are not from Colorado. They will declare, "Oh John Denver!" when they hear that you come from Colorado. Brown clarified. Take Me Home Country Roads was Denver's first Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist after working in small Folk Music Groups. The song was written in collaboration with Bill Danoff. Danoff had Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the song, but Denver realized that it could become a smash hit when it was discovered that an earlier version. The song was performed on stage in Washington D.C. to a massive crowd, Denver made a recording a few days later.
